My call to ministry
My journey began at age 12 when I became a Christian, filled with a deep hunger to know Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit. I trained as a Church Army officer and was later ordained. While serving as an ordained minister for over 30 years, I often pondered why Jesus dedicated a third of His ministry to casting out demons, yet I rarely witnessed this in any church. This led me on a quest for deeper understanding, reading every book and attending every conference I could to find on the Holy Spirit and inner healing. Dealing with a witch's coven in a parish pushed me to get professional training.
Embracing deliverance and exorcism
My 'aha!' moment came when I was ill equipped to deal with a witch and several local covens where I was ministering. I was assisted by Pastor Selwyn Van Wyk who is Australia's leading exorcist and deliverance minister. The Holy Spirit compelled me to learn about deliverance and exorcism. I studied at the International School of Deliverance and Exorcism, where I gained the knowledge and tools to assist people in finding freedom. This year, I was honoured to be asked to be the Australian Director for DWJD, "Seek Freedom Australia, further assisting in training a team across Australia.
Witnessing transformation
The most rewarding part of my work is seeing individuals deepen their relationship with Jesus. Many describe being able to spend more time reading their bible and engaging in worship, something they couldn't do before deliverance. One woman shared that it "saved her life," a testament to the profound impact of this ministry. These stories, while always private, fuel my passion to help others find similar freedom.
Our core beliefs at Seek Freedom Australia
At Seek Freedom Australia, we believe deliverance is not a quick fix but a transformative process guided by four biblical principles.
1. The scriptural mandate
Luke 10:19 states, "I have given you authority to overcome the power of the enemy." Matthew 10:1 reinforces this, reminding us of the power given to confront spiritual oppression.
2. Understanding spiritual footholds
Ephesians 4:26-27 warns, "Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry and do not give the devil a foothold." Demonic influence can gain legal rights through unconfessed sin, occult involvement, or trauma.
3. Prioritising inner healing
Luke 4:18 tells us Jesus came "to bind the broken-hearted." Sometimes, a person needs professional support from a counsellor, doctor, or psychologist to address deep-seated wounds.
4. Confrontation and casting out
Finally, after repentance and the removal of all legal rights, demonic forces need to be confronted and cast out, leading to true freedom and peace.
